Homeopathy
There
is one common thought to where homeopathy belongs, and that is the homeopathic
thought. The opposite is the allopathic thought from regular medicine. When
homeopathic remedies are prescribed from a allopathic line of thought, you are
not dealing with homeopathy but with controlling the symptoms. If you have a
pain you take a homeopathic drop and the pain disappears, but in principle you
have not resolved anything.
There are three different substances in homeopathy:
1. Escalation substances. 2. Staple substances. 3. Fusion substances.
An escalation substance is a
substance which is similar to the clinical picture (disease); with this you
disturb an equilibrium. The substance upsets the ecology of the body, which the
body accepts, and disturbs the equilibrium. This results in that the complaints
worsen at first, and that new complaints occur, such as cramp, dizziness etc.
Because the body’s control mechanism is disturbed worsening of the symptoms is
necessary so that the body can let go of the clinical picture.
Escalation substances make it difficult for you. They force you to show your
character. Unfortunately people often stop taking these substances because they
think they lack perseverance. They prefer to remain ill and out of balance
because they do not want to take escalation substances. They could better ask
themselves why they started with homeopathy in the first place, instead of using
allopathic (traditional) substances to rid them of their symptoms.
Afterwards a staple substance will be used to build you up. They need to be
taken over a long period so that their properties can be released slowly into
the body. Before the body realises the presence of the staple substances there
will be so many present that the body is not able to break them down. You can
say that staple substances are prescribed when it appears that your own
antibodies are reacting too quickly and therefore they continue to protect the
clinical picture instead of letting go.
Staple substances can also cause disturbances in the body which generally appear
when a third bottle of the substance is started.
Cardiac arrhythmias and cramp can occur which can discourage you from continuing
to take the substance. You must at all costs continue to take the substances so
that you can reach your aim: ‘to recover from your illness’.
Fusion substances, (the third homeopathic substance) ensure that tensions are
not removed via the weak parts of the body. They are
helpful substances because they help you to persevere. The character of the
fusion substances ensures that you have to overcome less resistance in your body
in order to recover. Fusion substances are usually given at the commencement of
the treatment. They are going to assist you and clear the way so that escalation
and staple substances can be administered; since you will still have to show
willpower. When you continue to take the fusion substances but no escalation or
staple substances then you are dealing allopathically with a substance.
In
homeopathy it is difficult to predict when your illness will improve. It is true
that a homeopathic substance can work directly but each prognosis which is made
by the homeopath is based on the condition of the patient at that moment. The
only thing the homeopath can do is observe the patient and guess how long it
will take before an improvement is seen. There are namely many circumstances
which can effect the prognosis. The prognosis of a patient who seems stable can
alter if he is unexpectedly confronted with a serious illness or death within
the family, major financial problems, redundancy, in short with problems which
cause serious stress or tension.
Moreover, similar tensions can cause the illness to worsen so that the homeopath
will need to start all over again. That is why you should not blame the
homeopath when his carefully thought out prognosis does not materialize, because
the problem could lie with you. There is also a second problem about giving a
prognosis which is that some patients literally go and wait for the healing to
be within a said period of time, they actually stop living. But homeopathy
ensures that you are stimulated to carry on with life so that healing* comes
later in life. If you standstill and wait you run the risk of becoming more ill.
* Homeopathic
substances are not medicines.
The
taking of homeopathic substances.
When you use one of the aforementioned homeopathic substances, you must realize
that the substances give you a stimulant but do not heal.
Your body experiences the stimulation as enjoyable or as pleasant, or they are
not recognized at all. The substances also ensure that the body makes antibodies
that can help in the healing process. The substances cannot heal, the body’s
reaction has to do this.
By using homeopathic substances you always need to give your body the chance to
show that it has understood the stimulation. This is comparable with learning to
cycle as a child. Your father held onto the saddle and then let go without you
knowing it and without you falling. In the same way your body has to show that
it is ready to work without medicine. That is why you must not use homeopathic
substances continuously. The continuous taking of a certain substance is only
prescribed in serious illnesses. Normally you must stop for 14 days between two
bottles, even with chronic illnesses such as rheumatoid arthritis, bladder
infection, kidney stones, migraine and similar illnesses. You then give your
body the chance to show its character.
The dosage of homeopathic substances.
You
always take 10 drops of one homeopathic fluid substance 3 times a day (or 15
drops twice a day) before eating, eventually diluted with water if you cannot
tolerate the high alcohol content. By diluting the fluid the body needs more
time to interpret the stimulation it receives. If using tablets, two are taken 3
times a day before eating. Both drops and tablets must be kept in the mouth for
a short while. Homeopathy works via the salivary glands and not via the stomach.
In general you need 90 millilitres of the staple substance, which is equivalent
to 3 bottles each containing 30 ml. After one 30 ml bottle is empty you need to
wait a fortnight before starting the next bottle. If you need to take two
substances simultaneously you begin the 14 day wait after both bottles are empty.
Because of the difference in viscosity of homeopathic substances they will never
be empty at the same time. After you have used 90 ml of a substance, (3 bottles),
you wait 4 weeks before starting again with the substance(s). The 4 week wait is
especially important for people with hormonal disturbances and migraine attacks.
Remedies
which are prescribed by your GP in emergencies can be taken together with your
homeopathic remedies.
Classic homeopathic dilutions can also be taken with ordinary dilutions.
When taking grains you must stop taking the ordinary homeopathic
dilutions for three days, before starting again.
